Campbell Co., VA - While gun sales have skyrocketed across the country in the wake of the shootings, they've remained steady here in the Commonwealth.
Virginia State Police haven't seen a spike in background checks for gun sales in the last five days. But, overall sales are up by 22 % for the first six months of this year.
Local gun dealers say while they haven't seen an increase recently, what happened in Colorado has been on customers' minds.
"We have had some people expressing a little concern about maybe not being able to get a gun in the future," said Maynard Lawthorne, manager of Lynchburg Arms.
Gun sales in Colorado jumped more than 41 %in the days following the mass shooting in Aurora.
