Lynchburg, VA - Organizers will unveil the Dunbar High School Memorial Wall Saturday August 4.

When it's done, the wall will have names inscribed of people who went to Dunbar High School from 1923-1970.

We just got a glimpse Thursday. The wall's not up just yet, but crews have been hard at work this week sprucing up the memorial grounds.

It's been a couple years to get the $80,000 project funded. Organizers say they always believed in it.

"It's been a long two years, but it's been a fruitful two years. It's just overwhelming how things have come in place and in order, and we are ready," said Delores Fowler, committee member for the memorial wall.

The wall will honor an important part of the city's African-American history.
