Halifax County- Cantaloupes, ice cream, barbecue, chicken wings and music, they had it all Friday night in South Boston.
It was the 32nd annual Cantaloupe Fest out at the Halifax County Fairgrounds.
People lounged around in their beach chairs, and they even brought in beach sand this year.
Even a local politician or two were out meeting and greeting folks on a steamy Friday evening.
"This is my first time at the Cantaloupe Fest, and I was invited to come out and got free tickets so I took advantage of it," said Wallace Hampton, a festivalgoer.
"I've been here three years in a row and I moved out here three years ago and every time I come here the people are awesome," said Brian Logan, a festivalgoer.
Friday night's event ended at 10:00 p.m.
