Danville, VA- Kids and their parents took advantage of a Fun day mixed with some healthy living in Danville on Saturday.
Downtown at the city auditorium they had games, health screenings, music , chair massages and the famous Danville fun wagon.
Organizers say they want the kids to go back to school this year with grade "A" health.
"I want to do something for my community especially for the underinsured and the underinsured population between 1964 and give them the chance to get some free health screens and give their kids a chance to have fun," said Lillie Jones, Danville Public Schools Project Case Manager.
"Healthy choices would be taking the right vitamins getting enough exercise, eating the right foods, things we all know we should be doing but sometimes we forget," said Wiley Jackson, a Sam's Club Pharmacist.
They were giving out lots of free sample items, but the vendors also wanted the crowd to stock up on the free health advice.
This was the first time the event was held and organizers say it was a huge success.
