Lynchburg, VA - The Lynchburg Regional Chamber of Commerce is one step closer to moving in to its new home.
Tuesday, crews put up the new sign as fundraising toward their $2.9 million goal continues.
The chamber announced in January that it plans to move from midtown and closer to the hustle and bustle of Wards Road.
It's been on Memorial Avenue for 47 years now. Chamber members say the new space in the old Billy Joe's Ice Cream shop is a great location.
And a new sign is a good start.
"What this is saying to everybody is, this is coming. This is the welcome mat for those who are coming to Lynchburg. It's telling the companies this is going to happen," said Georgia Fauber, co-chair of Capital Campaign.
The ice-cream shop was donated to Liberty University. The school then sold it to the chamber at a discounted rate.
