Paterson, NJ - A Liberty University student and her brother, set to attend LU in the fall, were killed in a house fire.
The school says 23-year-old Alexandra Velarde and her brother Christian Velasquez were killed last week.. after their home in New Jersey caught fire.
They died the following day from their injuries.
Alexandra transferred to LU last fall.. and was a senior Chemistry major.
LU says they are heartbroken and have been working with the family.
They say a memorial service will be planned after students get back to campus.
Both were laid to rest Wednesday.
