Hill City Wins Lynchburg Aquatic League "A" Championship


Lynchburg - Busy day at the Wildwood Swim Club Saturday, site of the annual Lynchburg Aquatic League "A" Meet Summer League Championships featuring swimmers who've posted the fastest times during the season. Undefeated Hill City and Peakland were the favorites coming in and they would finish 1-2.  Hill City 10-year-old Daniel Pettyjohn set a new meet record in the 50 free, Anna Meinke of Wildwood broke meet records in the 50 backstroke and 50 fly.  They both won three individual events, along with Bricsen Burton, Steven Mills, Carter Head, Ainsley Reed, Alyssa Reed, Owen Dunlop and Emmaline Eskridge.

               Hill City wins its fourth "A" Meet Championship in the last five years and celebrates with a jump in the pool, along with head coach Hank Reed.  Hill City wins by 73 points over Peakland, Wildwood finished third.

Daniel Pettyjohn, 5 EVENTS, 5 WINS (HILL CITY)- "I improved all my times and I broke an IM record and I improved my time by a few tenths."
