Coach Frank Rocco's Bulldogs have a tough act to follow. Last year's team went unbeaten and won their state championship game 50-8.
The scary thing for opponents, this year's squad could be even better! The 'Dogs return both quarterbacks, Matt Lewis and Zach Clinton, star running back Carrington Mosley plus Amherst transfer Brent Freguson, all their top receivers, both lines are big and fast.
The only negative appears to be depth. Rocco, who's won four state titles in his eight years at L.C.A,, says this is the best preseason conditioning the Bulldogs have EVER had.
"These guys, a lot of them who were juniors last year, are hungry to prove that they can do it back-to-back. But you know we'll have a bigger target on our chest this year, not going to surprise anybody, so we're gonna have to take everybody's best shot. So that's why we have to be as prepared as we are right now," said Frank Rocco, L.C.A. head coach.
"I think we're gonna be a great team, you know maybe even better than last year. We've got pretty much all our skill players back, a really good offensive line," said Braxton Pfaff, OFF./DEF. lineman (VT commit.)
"We can't let ourselves get a big head and just be like oh we won states last year, it'll magically happen again this year. But that's not the way we're all thinking, we all know we're going to have to work hard," said Tanner Hartman, OFF./DEF. LINEMAN (Maryland commit.)
The Bulldogs open the season with a benefit game at home against Orange County on August 24.
