Man Pleads Guilty to Involuntary Manslaughter

Montgomery Co., VA - A Christiansburg man changed his plea at the last moment Monday in court and pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

David Cupp has been found guilty in the death of Arnold Booth, 73, of Riner.

Cupp had originally pleaded not guilty and was scheduled for a jury trial Monday. He changed his please after a jury was selected.

Police say back in December 2010, Cupp hit Booth's car on Riner Road after running a stop sign while speeding.

Cupp is still in jail and will be sentenced on November 5.

He is also awaiting trial on several unrelated felonies including grand larceny and destruction of property.
