Forest, VA - Researchers are going back into Thomas Jefferson's past at Poplar Forest.
A new project started Monday that is expected to offer insight into how the Wing of Offices was used.
They will be analyzing materials that were excavated in the late 1980s and early 1990s and creating a catalogue of the artifacts. The findings will be available to the public online.
Jefferson built the Wing of Offices in 1813. After he died, the wing was removed and reconfigured into two separate buildings.
