Roanoke, VA - The Virginia Department of Emergency Management is teaming up with Virginia Western's police department to host a mass casualty drill.
First responders from around the region through the federal level will be taking part in the drill.
"I can tell you it's an active shooter scenario with some other issues thrown in there but we don't want to talk to much about the scenario because none of the responders are aware of what's going to happen," said Chief Craig Harris of the VWCC Police Department.
Campus will be closed on Thursday, but there will be a temporary office of admissions set up at Fishburn Park Elementary - which is located next door to the college.
However, college officials encourage students to sign up online.
