Update: Rockbridge County Emergency Management reports all three tubers are out of the water and safe.
-------------
Lexington, VA -- A search is underway for three 18-year-old tubers on the Maury River who left Beans Bottom around 6 p.m. but haven't been seen since.
Robert Foresman, Emergency Management Coordinator, says the three were supposed to finish their trip at Jordan's Point, in East Lexington.
Their parents called police after not hearing from them. Foresman says the three should have finished their trip right around 9 p.m.
Lexington Police, the Rockbridge County Sheriff's Office, VMI Police, Lexington Fire and Rescue, and the county's Swift Water Rescue Team are all out looking for the three.
The Swift Water team is on the river now.
Other searches are taking place on the river's edge. Foresman says the three did not take cell phones and may have gotten out of the river and gotten lost in the woods.
We'll bring you updates as we get them.
