Roanoke, VA- Roanoke Police are investigating an attempted robbery that happened Tuesday around midnight.
Police say a man entered the Anwill Grocery Store in the 200 Block of 24th Street, NW, brandishing a firearm.
The store employee then drew a firearm of their own and fired a shot. The suspect ran from the store, jumped into a vehicle and fled the scene.
Police say neither the suspect nor the employee were hurt. No store merchandise or money were taken.
Police describe the suspect as a black male, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
