Blacksburg Police Warning About Scam

Blacksburg, VA - Blacksburg Police are warning residents about a scam that is targeting the elderly.

They say an elderly woman got a call earlier this week from a man claiming to work for Publisher's Clearing House.

The caller told her she had won $3.5 million and a new car. He then told her to buy a Green DOT Money Pack card for $750 and read him the numbers from that card to get her prizes.

Publisher's Clearing House does not call people to tell them they have won anything, so if you get a call like this, call police.
