Salem, VA - The Salem Fire Department has released the name of the person who was killed in a fire Thursday morning.
They say 61-year-old Robert Arthur Barnes died in a home on Victoria Street in Salem. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The Fire Department says they did not find any evidence of a meth lab. There was speculation that it might have been a meth lab because the original call came in as an explosion.
Damage to the building is estimated at $30,000.
