Nelson County Governors - Football Friday Preview

Lovingston - Today's Football Friday Preview spotlights the Nelson County Governors.

The Governors are coming off a 2-and-8 season, but the good news is they won their last two games, so they've got momentum.
Mark Wells returns for his third year as head coach, his 22nd overall with Nelson.
The Governors are HUGE across the front line, averaging about 6-2, 275, looking to create big holes for senior quarterback Tyler Vest.  The Governors are true Road Warriors this year with just three home games.  They play their first five on the road before their home opener in OCTOBER.
Nelson's new motto this season is "All In."

Mark Wells, NELSON COUNTY HEAD COACH, said "I feel this group is the group that's going to do it.  You know we've talked about it all during the off-season.  You know that little bit of a winning streak at the end of the season went a long way this year in the off-season.  And the kids are excited.  You know we've had good numbers out, and just ready to go."

Tyler Vest, GOVERNORS SENIOR QB/SAFETY, said "We're big this year but don't get me wrong.  Just because we're big, we're fast, too."

Homer Barnett, JUNIOR OFF. TACKLE/DEF. TACKLE, said "Well I think this year we're just bond together, you know we're more like a team.  Instead of you know just one person, we're all ready to work together, you know, and win some games."
