Hillcats Beat Pelicans a Second Straight Night


Lynchburg - The Hillcats have taken the first two games of a three-game series against Myrtle Beach, beating the Pelicans Tuesday night 8-3.


Edward Salcedo gave the 'Cats a 4-to-1 lead with a three-run homer in the first inning.
Starter Gus Schlosser allowed the Pelicans to get back in it but got out of a jam in the 4th to keep the Hillcats out front. He got his league-leading 13th win of the season.

It remained 5-to-3 until the 6th. Shawn McGill drops down a sacrifice bunt and the pitcher throws it away. Adam Milligan scores and then Salcedo hustles all the way around from first to make it 7-to-3.
Michael Spina then added another run with a double to left.
