Lynchburg - The Hillcats finished off their first three-game home sweep of Myrtle Beach since 2009 Wednesday night, holding off the Pelicans 2-1.
Scoreless in the third, Lynchburg's Matt Weaver came up with a great web gem for Hillcats starter Ryan Weber, diving for a stop behind the second base bag and flipping to Emerson Landoni for the force at second.
Bottom of the third, Lynchburg's Dan Brewer broke open the scoreless game with a two-run single to left, giving the Hillcats a 2-0 lead.
Weber had a shutout going for Lynchburg until Chris Grayson led off the fifth with a homer to right, slicing the lead to 2-1.
But that would be the final run of the game.
Hillcats held on for the 2-1 win. Lynchburg, a half game behind Wilmington in the second half, travels to Delaware to face the Blue Rocks in a big four-game series starting Thursday night.
