Roanoke, VA - A Roanoke restaurant and night club now has to refund more than $3,300 for a sold out Chippendales show because it turned out to be fake.
A promoter claiming to represent the real dancers contacted 202 Market about a tour spot. The promoter even sent tickets and promotional posters using the official trademark.
Once 202 Market started promoting the event, the real Chippendales got in touch.
"They said it's not the first time or the tenth time that it's happened. It's happened a lot of times where they've had to have these legal battles with these companies. So it was certainly the first time I've heard of it but not the first time it happened," said JoJo Soprano, marketing director for 202 Market.
Soprano says he has been in touch with the group's real promoter and says a stop by the world famous dancers is not out of the question.
Right now though, they are in England.
