Lynchburg, VA - It worked on Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis. When a solider asked them to a military ball, they actually went.
Now a group of locals is asking a rising country star for a favor. They're making a request on behalf Eddie Moore, who earlier this year was killed with his best friend by a drunk driver on Timberlake Road.
Eddie was a huge Eric Church fan, and now his friends are asking the country singer to show a little love to his biggest supporter.
Moore, often referred to as Moose by friends, loved Eric Church's music.
"If you were around Eddie, you heard Eric Church. That's all you heard. He talked about him constantly, as well," said Cord Doss.
TJ Martin, Eddie's best friend, was the last to go to a concert with Moose in Greensboro. Martin says he even caught him getting emotional to the song... Carolina.
"The lights kind of went dim and it's a slower song and as soon as the lights came up I look over and he's got his face in his hands just crying," said Martin.
Church carried Moore through this life and into the next.
"Eddie was actually escorted out of his funeral to the song Springsteen and I was hoping if anything, that Eric could dedicate that song at the show to Eddie," said Heather Granzow .
Granzow noticed the slew of people making posters and bracelets to take to Church's next concert and decided to look the singer up on Facebook.
"I decided, ‘What if we can do even better and post to Eric Church's wall and see if he could do for Eddie himself?'"
So, Eric Church, if you're listening, Eddie's friends are asking that you dedicate Springsteen to Moose.
"I think it's something Eric would do. Eddie was his biggest fan," said Granzow.
"It would mean the world to me because I know he'd be looking down watching, so I know it's a huge deal for all of us," said Martin.
Granzow plans to post to his Facebook page every day until the concert on October 25 in Roanoke to try to reach Church.
Eddie's mom also wrote a letter to Capitol Records and has talked to them on phone.
