Lynchburg, VA - The man accused in a murder last weekend in Lynchburg made his first court appearance Friday.
A judge assigned Shawn Lee Johnson a public defender and ruled that his trial will be held in October.
Johnson is facing a second degree murder charge in the death of Thomas Belford. The two men got into a fight Sunday morning, outside of the Old Dominion Lodge. Belford was strangled to death.
Police say Johnson turned himself in after the fight.
