Danville, VA - An old Danville fire station may soon get a second life as a restaurant.
Tuesday night, Danville city council will hear a proposal from River District Development looking to buy the Bridge Street fire station.
Along with an old utilities building next door, the station will be converted into a restaurant.
City officials say the overall project will do much to revitalize downtown.
"Bridge street will take off. With the RDD medical project going in there you've got over 100 doctors and nurses, plus you're gonna have all those patients. You're gonna have a lot of activity on bridge street, plus a building that's first class," said Jeremy Stratton, director of Danville Office of Economic Development
River District Development is currently remodeling the Dan River Research Building into a suite of medical offices.
