Bassett Bengals Football Friday Preview

Today's Football Friday Preview, we check in at Bassett.

The Bengals have a lot of returning players from last year's team that finished 3-and-7 in the regular season and then lost to Hidden Valley in the playoffs.
Head Coach Jay Gilbert, beginning his ninth season, says with so many players returning, Bassett can focus on fine-tuning what it does.
In addition to a challenging district schedule, the Bengals play some tough out-of-conference teams like Christiansburg, Franklin County, Hidden Valley, Jefferson Forest and Carroll County.  Bassett opens at Carroll County this Friday night.

Jay Gilbert, BASSETT BENGALS HEAD COACH, said "It's pretty much status quo around here.  We're gonna run the option and we're gonna run our 3-4 with our speed we've got and kind of attack that way."

Tra Ross, SENIOR RUNNING BACK/DEF. BACK, said "I mean our intensity is great, I mean everybody's working hard, everybody's competing within each other, so I think we'll be really surprised on how our games end."

Roger Woody, SENIOR OFF./DEF. LINEMAN, said "All of us have more experience with the game now and we have more of an older team so, and we try to boost some of our younger guys up so they can be better in the future."
