The Randolph-Henry Statesmen know they can get back to the playoffs.
Last year the Statesmen finished 4-7, losing in the first round of the playoffs to Washington and Lee.
They have six starters back on both sides of the ball with a majority of that experience on the offensive and defensive lines.
They will start a freshman at quarterback - Joseph Reed. Joe Freeland and his coaching staff see plenty of potential in him for the next four years.
Right now Freeland is emphasizing the fundamentals to his younger group. One key is finding other skill position players to surround Reed.
They open the season at Altavista and also play Chatham and Appomattox out of the Dogwood District this season.
