Danville, VA - After being shut down for nearly two years, the historic North Theatre in Danville is finally reopening Wednesday night.
New owner magician Wayne Alan held a blessing at the theatre Tuesday to commemorate the opening. He bought the theatre in late November, the same month the facade of an adjoining building collapsed.
Alan said he spent a lot of time researching the theatre and the new shows couldn't be starting at a better time.
"Our grand re-opening on Saturday, August 25, is, to the day, the 65th anniversary of the actual opening of the theatre in 1947," he said.
