Danville, VA -- The Dan River is one step closer to becoming a scenic river. Representatives from the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation surveyed a 14 mile stretch last month. City and county officials met with them to kayak the river.
According the city council members, representatives have approved the designation and even want to use Danville as an example of how to welcome guests. Now, the designation will have to go through the state legislature.
