Wristbands on Sale in Honor of Altavista Marine Killed in Afghan - WSET.com - ABC13

Altavista, VA - The Altavista Fire Department is heading up a fundraiser for the Altavista Marine was killed last week.

Staff Sgt. Gregory Copes was shot by an Afghan officer on Friday.

Friday night, firefighters will be selling wristbands at the Altavista High School football game. They will also be for sale at the Avoca Museum.

Copes was deployed in January and was set to return home on September third. He leaves behind a wife and four children.
