Danville, VA -- A Danville man is taking on a pretty big challenge. Dave Gluhareff has been selected to participate in the World's Toughest Mudder, a 24-hour ultimate mud race.
It includes as many laps as possible through an 8-mile obstacle course. Gluhareff has participated in several races, but he expects this one to be the biggest physical challenge.
Over the years, Gluhareff has lost more than 100 pounds and become a personal trainer. He says that anyone can get in shape.
"You can go from the extreme obesity to getting in shape. Right now my goal last year was getting in the best shape of my life again and get into more obstacle events," he said.
The race will be in November, and he will be training a lot between now and then.
