Advance Auto Employees Pack 10,000 Meals

Roanoke, VA – About 80 Advance Auto employees spent about an hour Thursday afternoon packing up 10,000 meals for needy kids in Nicaragua.

The event was the result of a partnership with the auto supply chain and "Stop Hunger Now".

The dehydrated meals will feed 100 kids for 100 days at a Nicaraguan school.

"When you think about what you're doing... when you get to touch the lives of kids... that brings it back to all of us," said Amy McArthur, an Advance Auto employee.

The meals were all loaded up and brought back to the group's Lynchburg warehouse.

From there, the employees will wait for 250,000 more meals before shipping the food by boat to Central America.
