Martinsville - In our 30th and final Football Friday Preview for this season, we check in with the Martinsville Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs are coming off a 6-and-5 season from last year, 3-and-1 in the Piedmont District. Martinsville made it to the second round of the playoffs in Bobby Dalton's second year as head coach. And the great news this season, the Bulldogs return 14 starters off last year's squad, including the entire offensive and defensive lines. That's got Dalton and the 'Dogs excited about their chances. The Bulldogs start their season with a bang Friday night, hosting defending state champion Brookville.
Bobby Dalton, THIRD-YEAR BULLDOGS HEAD COACH, said "With the new rule change, we've been able to get out on the field you know in the late spring, just cover some things, techniques. And it has worked out well for us this season."
Tyshan Williams, SENIOR OFF. GUARD/NOSE TACKLE, said "Just the whole team. The team is much better, everything is working as a team and we've got potential to win."
Darius Simington, SENIOR OFF./DEF. LINEMAN - "Everybody's starting to work harder as a team and not as selfish, you know. We're listening to our coaches and we're listening to each other."
