Roanoke, VA - The family of 13-month old Veralee Craft is pushing ahead with plans for a bake sale this weekend to raise money to buy her a grave marker.
Veralee died of injuries she sustained last month before she was rushed to a Roanoke Hospital where she died.
Preston King, 27, remains in the Roanoke County/Salem jail charged with child abuse in connection to her death.
The family says the cheapest grave marker they can purchase is $1,500, which is the goal for the sale.
Veralee's father says the outpouring so far has been humbling.
"I got a lot of response. A lot of people have offered to volunteer toward the bake sale. They've offered to help in many ways which has been a blessing," said Jonathan Craft.
The bake sale is this Sunday at 1 p.m. at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Lynchburg.
