Lynchburg, VA- According to Appalachian Power's website, around 4 p.m. on Saturday almost 4,000 people lost power in and around the Lynchburg area.
As of 6 p.m. most of those people are still without power.
According to AEP's spokesperson, it's a transmission line issue on a 6,900 volt line.
Officials say it affected a sub station, although it's still not known what started the problem.
They say they hope to have most of the power restored by 7 p.m. Saturday.
