Lynchburg, VA - The Lynchburg Police Department and the Lynchburg Fire Department held their 5th annual "Guns N' Hoses" Charity Softball game Sunday at City Stadium in Lynchburg.
Both departments came together to raise money for Special Olympics and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Players say there is a small rivalry between the two teams, but they are happy to come together for a good cause.
"It's a big moral boost for both sides as well as the public to show that we're a united community trying to fight these problems," said Ronnie Sitler, who was on the "Guns Team."
"It's really heartwarming to know that folks not just at the police department or fire department support what is going on, but the community at large," said Greg Wormsor, who was on the "Hoses Team."
Before Sunday's game, both teams were tied in overall wins, having both won two games. Sunday the Fire Department came out on top, so they will have bragging rights until next year.
