Fire in April
Altavista, VA- An Altavista bank destroyed by a fire is on the verge of re-building.
In April, a mulch fire sparked a blaze that ravaged the First National Bank.
The Bank President Todd Hall says contract negotiations are underway for construction, and crews are expected to be out re-building by October.
Hall hopes to have the bank re-opened this spring, before the one year anniversary of the fire. In the meantime, customers are using a temporary bank set up in the Town and Country Shopping Center.
