Both LU Quarterbacks Will Play at Wake Forest

Lynchburg - Liberty Flames Head Coach Turner Gill said Tuesday BOTH his quarterbacks have EARNED the right to play in Saturday night's season opener at Wake Forest.

Gill says junior Brian Hudson out of Stafford and redshirt freshman Josh Woodrum out of Cave Spring will both play two series at the start of Saturday's game.  After that, coaches will decide which quarterback will finish out the game.  Gill said he sees having two good quarterbacks as a positive all the way.  Both Hudson and Woodrum admit there'll be plenty of pressure on their two opening series, but they're good with that.

Josh Woodrum, FLAMES R-FRESHMAN QB, said "If you can't play under pressure, you know I don't think you're very good at all anyway.  So you know you've really got to show exactly what you bring and what your abilities are and how you can perform under that during this game."

Brian Hudson, FLAMES JUNIOR QB, said "It will put a lot of pressure on that, but I'm not going to emphasize that.  I'm just gonna play my game and I'm not worried about how many series I'm getting or what Josh is doing or what's going on.  I'm just trying to play my best and put us in a good chance to win the game."

Gill also said junior running back Aldreakis Allen is suspended for this game only for violating team policy and sophomore lineman Grant Jones out of L.C.A. will redshirt this season.
