Lynchburg - College volleyball Tuesday night at Liberty, the Flames defeated state rival William & Mary 3-1. Former Rustburg star Michelle Heath is a freshman for the Tribe, she did not play in the game, word is the coaches are trying to decide whether to redshirt Heath this season.
Big South Freshman of the Week Caroline Douglas had another big game for LU, 12 kills and four blocks.
The Tribe, after dropping game one, won the second to even the match. Liberty, though, pulled out a tight 26-24 third game, Kendle Rollins came up with a pretty block and point for the Flames.
Game four would also be close, but LU pulled it out 25-21 to clinch the match, Ansley Gebben with the kill. The Flames improve to 3-and-1 on the season, the Tribe fall to 1-and-3.
