Roanoke Man Facing Federal Charges - WSET.com - ABC13

Roanoke, VA - A Roanoke man is now facing federal charges after police say he set off a pipe bomb in Blacksburg earlier in August.

Derick Gregory Wilson, 23, is charged with illegally possessing an explosive device.

All state charges against him will be dropped.

Investigators say on August first, Wilson put the bomb underneath an SUV near the Virginia Tech campus and set it off. No one was hurt.

A federal judge has also ordered a psychiatric evaluation.
