Charlottesville - If you're rooting for Rocco this weekend in Charlottesville, you've got to be a little more specific. There will be Roccos on both sides of the field.
Michael Rocco, of course, is the starting quarterback for the Cavaliers, who'll make it 14 straight starts when Virginia plays its season opener Saturday at home against Richmond.
He'll be trying to beat another Rocco, his uncle Danny Rocco, former Liberty Flames coach who makes his Richmond head coaching debut Saturday.
Michael Rocco, 14TH STRAIGHT UVA START, said "Yea it's gonna be a great weekend for my family. It's gonna be fun and it's gonna be competitive, and that's what it always is in the Rocco family."
Danny Rocco, RICHMOND HEAD COACH (MICHAEL'S UNCLE), said "We all admire people that earn what they get. You know there's no silver spoon handed over to Michael, Michael has earned everything he's gotten up there. And I'm real proud of him and happy for him."
Michael Rocco said "At the end of the day, this weekend, the goal is to win the football game. And so giving him clues and stuff is not what I'm trying to do so. And he's not trying to pry anything out of me. So I mean we have a good relationship."
Virginia senior offensive tackle Oday Aboushi is one of 25 players named Wednesday to ESPN.com's preseason All-America team. Aboushi is one of three ACC players on the list, joined by Carolina offensive guard Jonathan Cooper and N.C. State cornerback David Amerson.
