Lynchburg - Today's high school Team of the Week is the Timberlake Christian volleyball team.
The Tornadoes are off to a fast 4-and-1 start this season, coming off a big 3-1 win at Heritage on Monday night. Timberlake lost some key players from a year ago, but that's helped energize this year's team to show folks the cupboard is far from bare. Players say a never give up attitude in games has really served them well. Timberlake plays next at New Covenant Thursday night.
Lauren Good, SENIOR OUTSIDE HITTER, said "We have a lot of young potential. We have a lot of players that are new to our team this year and we lost three seniors. They thought it was going to be a rebuilding year for us, but it's turned out to be a really strong season so far for us."
Addison Goodman, JUNIOR OUTSIDE HITTER/SETTER, said "We have great hitters, we have great motivators. And I mean I'm having so much fun and that's basically the whole point of playing a sport is just to have fun."
