Hundreds Attend My Twinn Job Fair

Update Thursday 6 p.m.:

Chatham, VA – There was proof Thursday on the Southside of how many people are looking for jobs.

Doll manufacturer MyTwinn, located in Blairs, held a job fair at the Community Center in Chatham.

They're looking to hire about 55 to 90 seasonal workers for their busiest time of the year - the holiday season.

Before the job fair even started, the line was wrapped around the building with people ready to apply.

A spokeswoman for the Danville-Pittylvania County Chamber of Commerce says a seasonal position can be a great place to start for a job seeker.

"When you're looking for a full time job, if you have a lag in your resume of time that you've not worked, it doesn't really look good to employers, so seasonal job is a good way to fill that gap," said Kate Farmer.

Farmer also says, depending on how well MyTwinn does, they may be able to hire some seasonal workers for full-time positions.

Chatham, VA - Local specialty doll manufacturer My Twinn is getting ready for the holiday season and will be hiring more than 50 seasonal associates.

These are first-shift positions in the contact center - general warehouse, data entry and artistic finishing services

Those who are interested can visit The Community Center on 115 South Main Street Thursday from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
