Car Crashes Into Danville Home, Three Taken to Hospital

Danville, VA - Three people, including a 4-year-old boy, were injured when a car drove into a Danville house Friday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the 700 block of Jefferson just after 7 a.m.

Police say driver, Terrence Walden, 27, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu East on Stokes Street when his brakes failed and he crashed into the house.

No one was in the home at the time, but all three passengers were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Fire officials say that a gas line was severed but the gas was quickly turned off. Neighbors say they could not believe what they saw.

"I've never seen anything like that happen before. I've seen a lot of accidents but that was one of a kind for me. I was hoping and praying that everyone was okay," said David Prunty.

Police say Walden was charged with having defective equipment with his brakes and driving with a suspended license.
