Popular Danville Restaurant Closes Its Doors

Danville, VA -  A popular fine dining restaurant in Danville is closing its doors Friday night.

Tony Muncey, the owner of Fender's Wine Bar & Bistro, is closing the restaurant to move to New England. He says a tough economy and the desire to be closer to his family are the reasons behind his decision.

The restaurant was only open two years, but Muncey says he truly enjoyed his time in Danville.

"I've met a lot of folks in Danville I never would have met otherwise. I've met a lot of visitors to town - a lot of very interesting people - and we've had a lot of fun. It's very, very rewarding," Muncey said.

Fender's is located at 1050 Riverside Drive and will be open until midnight if you want to stop by one last time.

Right now, Muncey is working with the owners of the building to find someone to lease the property once he's gone.
