South Boston, VA.-- A new trail in South Boston is attracting some outdoor lovers into the area.
The trail opened about two weeks ago and it's already getting a lot of use. It's a part of the 150 mile Tobacco Heritage Trail that spans through the Southside.
The South Boston segment is two and half miles long. It starts at the old Halifax Cotton Mill and ends at Berry Hill Resorts.
You can ride your bike, walk, hike or even bring your horse.
The Director of Tourism says it's something the community has been anticipating for a while.
"The fact that it's so needed by the community, the fact that people are coming from other places and using it, that's definitely a bonus," said Linda Sheppard
There are also plans to add a botanical garden as a new addition to the trail.
