Today's ABC 13 high school Team of the Week is Cave Spring volleyball.
The Knights are defending state champions. They opened their season Tuesday night with a 3-0 win at Jefferson Forest.
Cave Spring lost five seniors off last year's championship team, so the Knights are younger this year but the players feel just as talented. And they've got something this season they haven't had in a while...good height.
Sarah Smith, KNIGHTS SENIOR LIBERO, said "Probably our height helps a lot and our passing and our serving, we try to focus on in an offensive way instead of defensive."
Erin Holsinger, KNIGHTS SENIOR OUTSIDE HITTER, said "We have lots of eyes watching and seeing how we're going to come out as being state champions last year. So lots of pressure on us, especially on the new, especially on the freshmen and the sophomores on the court that are playing a lot."
