LYNCHBURG - One night after racking up 15 hits and eight runs, the Hillcats managed just seven hits and three runs in a 12-3 blowout loss to Wilmington.

The Northern Division Championship Series is now tied 1-1 with game three set for Friday at 6:05 p.m. Aaron Northcraft will pitch for the Hillcats.

On Thursday night, starter Dismather Delgado did not get past the 4th inning. He allowed six hits and five earned runs. "It was a tough game. I was feeling great but when it's not your day it's not your day so I was trying to make my pitches but everything was high and they hit the ball well so," Delgado explained.

Matt Fields delivered the big blow for the Blue Rocks. He sent one of Delgado's pitches over the right field fence for a three-run home run in the third inning, providing Wilmington with a 4-1 lead.

Jason Adam pitched seven strong innings for the Blue Rocks. He allowed just five hits and two runs (one earned) to get the win on the mound. "Me mixed up his pitches pretty well throughout the night and honestly we didn't put our best at-bats together. We didn't get any clutch hits with guys in scoring position like we did [Wednesday] night," Hillcats outfielder Mycal Jones said.
