Lynchburg, VA - Some of Lynchburg's best culinary minds are going to be put to the test this weekend -- with the top chef contest!
This is the first year and it benefits the Jubilee Center.
Chefs from several area restaurants are squaring off Saturday night at the sold out event.
Some of the children at Jubilee are even taking part -- providing entertainment and even showing off their own cooking skills.
With funding cuts and budget cuts it is so important for a place like Jubilee to do special events, and this is one of our events we are sponsoring to support the things we do," said Sterling Wilder, of the Jubilee Family Development Center. "From the academic tutoring programs, to the mentoring programs, to keeping kids off the streets."
Some very impressive New York based celebrity judges are flying in for the competition.
Johnny Luzzini, head judge on Bravo's Top Chef Desserts will join master mixologist Jim Meehan, as well as Valerie Meehan, the general manager of the acclaimed American eatery Market Table.
But all the tickets are sold out.
