Blacksburg, VA - Virginia Tech has received a nearly $1 million research grant from the National Science Foundation.
The school says the three-year award will be used to increase the efficiency of laboratory processes that make custom DNA molecules.
The project provides cross-training opportunities to biology and engineering students by fabricating DNA naturally and synthetically.
