Lynchburg - This year's Carolina League Baseball Championship will be decided in Lynchburg this week.
The Hillcats and Winston-Salem Dash split two games in Winston-Salem over the weekend, the Hillcats won Saturday night, the Dash rallied to win Sunday to even the series at one. Mycal Jones' squeeze bunt in the fourth had given the 'Cats a 3-1 lead.
But the Dash got three in the sixth to grab the lead, Kevan Smith's two-run homer the go-ahead blast in a 5-4 win.
Now it's down to a best-of-three series in Lynchburg for the championship starting Tuesday night at 6.
Luis Salazar, HILLCATS MANAGER, said "It's gonna be a very nice ride for the next three days here in Lynchburg, best-of-3. We're going to play a very tough team like Winston-Salem but we're the only team to handle them really well. And we'll give the thing a fight in every game."
