LYNCHBURG - After beating Winston-Salem 1-0 on Tuesday night, the Hillcats are one win away from a Carolina League Championship.
Lynchburg's ace pitcher Gus Schlosser lived up to his title as the league's pitcher of the year by tossing seven scoreless innings. He struck out seven and allowed just four hits.
Dan Brewer drove in the game's only run with an RBI single to left in the fifth inning.
The Hillcats can clinch the organization's first league title since 2009 (when they were affiliated with the Pirates) on Wednesday night at 6:05 p.m.
If the Dash force a fifth and final game it will be played Thursday at 6:05 p.m.
