Lynchburg, Va. - Damage from that derecho was not limited to trees and buildings. Many American flags, took a hit as well. Some were left tattered by the strong winds.
Tuesday night, the Woodmen of the World presented forty brand new American flags to Lynchburg City Council to replace all those that were damaged in the storm. The flags will go throughout Lynchburg and fly outside of city owned buildings.
Woodmen of the world has donated flags to Lynchburg before. They were asked to help again, following June's storm.
